The Scarborough Magnifier
System- The original post mounted glass magnifier. As used
by some
of the best (including many time US Champ, Brian May.) Allows magnified
view of map and compass scale to complement the advantages
of the thumb compass. All non magnetic
materials. Glass for sharper, scratch resistant viewing vs. the
imitation plastic versions from Moscow and Silva.
Lens swings out of the way when not needed. With mounting

Orienteering Computer Simulation
"Lost in Forest", orienteering simulation for your PC from

I have tried half a dozen now on the market and this is the best.
You navigate through three dimensional terrain in perspective while
reading the map in split screen. Orient the map as you go.
Design courses. Modify the terrain for steepness, boulders,
visibility, vegetation, detail, marsh, vegetation and marsh speed.
Results show split times and optimum route. Requires DOS mode.
